Professional Summary:-

Professor (Dr.) Sunita Sinha, a gold medallist from Patna University, Bihar, is currently the Principal "of Women’s College, Samastipur, L.N. Mithila University, Bihar. She is also the Head of the Department of English in the college. Her doctoral research work is on, “The Element of Humanism in Greene’s Central Novels from The Power and The Glory to The Honorary Consul.”

A prolific author and editor, she has to her credit twenty-eight books which have been highly acclaimed in academic circles.

Her authored books are: “Graham Greene: A Study of His Major Novels” and “Post-Colonial Women Writers: New Perspectives” and “Twentieth Century Literature: Emerging Trends” and “Rethinking Gender: Masculinity, Feminity and Queerity in Postcolonial Indian Fiction”.

Her edited books have contributions by scholars from various countries like America, Cameroon, Italy, France, Greece, Albania, Taiwan, Canada and Bangladesh.

She has successfully participated in thirty-seven national and international seminars and conferences.

She has a distinguished record of literary publication. She has to her credit fifty-seven papers published in critically acclaimed national and international academic journals and books.

She has participated in many National and international Webinars too where she has been invited as resource person and keynote speaker.

She has successfully supervised nine candidates who have been awarded Ph.D. degree. Some are still pursuing their Ph.D. under her supervision.

She has to her credit a Minor Research Project titled, “Mapping Post-Colonial Indian Masculinities in the novels of Raja Rao and Anita Desai.”

She is currently the Chief Editor of three international journals, The Atlantic Review of Feminist Studies, The Atlantic Literary Review and The Atlantic Critical Review.

She is also the Honorary Editor/Director for Bihar, Atlantic Publishers & Distributors [P] Ltd.

She is also the Coordinator for Bihar Region for The Foundation for the Study of Literature and Environment [FSLE -A chapter of ASLE-USA]

  • Co edited a book titled “Shakespeare Next: A Reappraisal” with Carole Rozzonelli, Former Vice Chancellor in Communication, University of Lyon 2, France, Associate Professor in English- ICT and Communication Law.
  • Her articles feature in an international journal published by The Department of Oriental Studies, University of Turin, Italy, 2009. ISBN 978-88-6274-119-4. The journal includes papers by luminaries like Amartya Sen, M. J. Akbar, Bapsi Sidhwa and Anita Nair etc.
  • She is also a dedicated partner to university programs and outreach events that help promote learning and support the community.
  • Member of professional bodies, societies like Contemporary Women’s Writing Association (CWWA), UK, Shakespeare Society of Eastern India, Kolkata, Jan Shikshan Sansthan, sponsored by Department of Elementary Education and Literacy, Ministry of HRD, Government of India, NGO - Prayaas, Samastipur, Member of Prayaas, Juvenile Aid Centre, Samastipur.
